The Whole Story
Looks Don't Mean Everything Shoulder length brown hair and green eyes- by no means is Toris a ‘looker’, but it works for him. He’s normal-looking, and he’d have it no other way. His build is slightly more muscular than you’d think for a guy around his age, but it can easily be attributed to a bit of weight lifting. Generally, Toris dresses in a button down shirt and some slacks or something- rarely does he ever dress ‘casual’. When he’s working in the cemetery, he prefers to be cliché and put on a black jacket over his usual clothing. Thankfully, black absorbs any and all blood stains he may/may not obtain from his job. It’s one of his favorite colors. When he has formal business meetings, he’ll wear a dark green suit, with his hair neatly pulled back into a ponytail.
But Some of Us Are Ugly On the Inside, Too Toris is a great person to the onlooker- nice, cheerful, patient. He goes about his business peacefully, with only minor blips that could possibly make others suspect him of not being what he seems. His tone is always genial, and smiles a lot. This is a stark, stark contrast to how his ‘business’ self really is. Being the heir to a mafia family, you have to have a backbone if you want to survive. Toris has one, he just hates showing it. When involved in business matters, he is coldhearted, cruel, ruthless. He’s a smart bargainer, and often uses underhanded tactics to get what he wants, be it blackmail, or simply killing the people who are obstructing his plans. The Russian Family is a way for Toris to let out his stress, and be what he wants to be, rather than the happy façade he puts up. He treats newcomers with kindness, although after a few days this will evaporate and Toris will leave them alone, or treat them a bit coldly if he disapproves of them. With friends in the Russian Family, Toris acts rather friendly, though much blunter than he would be with ordinary people.
I Have a Past: It all started with the stupid Soviet Union. When Russian forces invaded Lithuania, Toris, being a distant relative of some guy in some mafia that he didn’t know or really care about, got forced into the Russian Mafia, as some kind of weird part time job. His parents never knew, his friends never knew, and his superiors made sure that they would never know. Eventually, Toris learned that this distant relative had made a huge mistake, and had been forced to compensate for it – by dying and giving up the closest capable male relative to the Mafia. That, being Mr. Toris Laurinaitis. Toris accepted his situation, and began to rise in the ranks until at age 19, he was declared the heir of the entire Russian Mafia organization. By then, Toris was out of school and worked full-time in the Mafia, assassinating people, packing illegal drugs into secret compartments to be shipped out of Russia, the usual. A little before the war ended, Toris was sent to America, specifically Hawaii, for experience on working in an unfamiliar environment, alone. Here he would own a graveyard and bury the deceased, whether by natural or…unnatural causes. And there he met Natalia, his helper, and the sister of the current boss of the Russian Mafia.

Roleplay Sample: Meryl Handren, 72 years old, died of heart failure. Toris read the sheet of paper attached to the funeral notification slip. Another plot to be dug up, another mournful funeral, another gravestone he had to protect from kids jumping on it. Peering out the window, he found it was a bright and sunny day still. He put the paper down and got up from his chair to grab his shovel and wide brimmed hat, because sunburn was a given in Hawaii. So far, he had gotten enough sunburns for a lifetime, and unless he wanted more, he had to wear a hat that would fall off his head with every breeze and sharp movement while he dug the 6 by 6 grave for the old woman. Natalia wasn’t here right now, so his measurements would probably be a bit off, and he’d be glared at when she’d return and measure the grave he’d dug, as if she was his boss. What a life.
